I will probably eat anything that comes from the duo Josh Loeb and Zoe Nathan. They own and operate Rustic Canyon, Huckleberry and Sweet Rose; three of my favorite places to eat in Los Angeles. Their new(ish) venture, Milo + Olive, is a wonderful breakaway from their other restaurants. Milo + Olive specializes in amazing pastries matched by creative and delicious pizzas. Pictured is the Margherita pizza, the Butternut Squash pizza (fresh mozzarella, caramelized onions, sage, brown butter, farm egg), and Marinated Green Beans (green beans marinated in whole grain mustard, pine nuts, goat cheese, dried fruit and other things which I forget because it isn’t on the menu anymore). Anyways, it was a lovely place for lunch. It’s definitely small, so I’d recommend takeout if you want to cater to a big group. I haven’t been for the pastries yet but knowing some of Nathan’s staples at Huckleberry I am assuming Milo + Olive will be amazing as well. Some of the tempting breakfast items include:

  • MUSHROOMS & ANSON MILLS GRITS with sunny side up eggs & fresh herbs
  • CHEESY EGGS ON SUPER CHEESY TOAST soft scrambled eggs, Parmigiano Reggiano (add La Quercia prosciutto) 
  • M+O BAGEL with cream cheese & mixed onion marmalade
  • MUFFINS vegan gluten-free banana chocolate or strawberry cornmeal

Anyways, now that I’m sufficiently craving every item of their menu, I should probably end this post.
